4th update!

I've realised that I haven't done an update on the community since October 18th 2009!

(no subject)

Well hello again, Mission 101'ers!

It's been 10 months since my last update, and I don't know where the time has gone. In one way, it feels like just yesterday, yet in other ways it feels like a lifetime ago. So much of my life has changed since then.

Last time I posted, I had just gone through a break up with my fiance of 6 years, and as a result of the stress of that break up I suffered a miscarriage at 13 weeks. I was devastated, but I managed to pick myself up and get on with life, and I'm proud to say that I'm a much stronger person because of it.

My ex and I are back on speaking terms, and whilst I have absolutely no intention of getting back together with him, I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel, hallelujah!

I plan on making a new set of goals at the start of 2011 to work at alongside the remainder of these. Next year's goals will include babies and invesments :-)

I haven't accomplished much, oops. My list was a little too demanding/ambitious anyway. Besides, my goals have changed completely in the last MONTH. I still want to do most of the things on my original list, but they're not my top priority.

I have completed 6/101 goals! Wow, I suck. okay, anyway, the ones I accomplished were:
1) ride a rollercoaster (which I am NEVER DOING AGAIN EVER EVER)
2) perform in front of people
3) drive to somewhere outside of Houston (I'd never driven myself out of my city before!)
4) Treat my depression (thank you Prozac!)
5) transfer to a 4-year university
6) pick a major and stick with it

The rest of them are here

And my NEW, much simpler plan is here. This one is a life list, not a 1001 Days list.

In the last week I've decided I want to go to nursing school and ... become a nurse. If I get waitlisted or rejected or can't find a job, I want to be a flight attendant temporarily (while waiting for nursing to work out). If I'm content with being a nurse, I'll get my Master's and specialize in a field; if I'm not satisfied, I want to go to vet school! I had no real plans or goals of any kind a month ago and I didn't think I was competent enough for a part-time cashier job. This is totally different ... I love it.

Has anyone here ever volunteered abroad or been an au pair? Got any stories or advice? :)

What Pants?

I haven't updated my mission101 in 50 years, and I actually kind of forgot about for a while and completed a few things without knowing it. =P Anyways, here is my progress.

I have a feeling there's going to be about 10 failures at the end of the 1001 days, but I think I'm doing quite well.

Update - Mission 101, August 2010

I haven't updated my LJ since before World Cup, and thusly I haven't updated my Mission 101 list since March, so it's long overdue, even though personally I don't think I've done much.

17. Take 5000 pictures. (1062/5000)

As always, the pictures can be viewed on my Flickr page. A lot of the pictures are of my yarn stash, or my knitting projects, but there are pictures in there from my cruise, and various other things I've taken pictures of to try and increase the number.

36. Visit 5 National Park Service Units I Haven't Visited Before. (5/5)

Finished this one by visiting Cumberland Gap National Historic Park on 7/24/10 while I was visiting a friend up in Tennessee.

40. Use Passport at least Twice.

Well since I visited three different countries during my most recent cruise, I consider this goal complete as I would have received stamps had I flown into the country rather than just arriving via ship. :-)

42. Go on another cruise.

Took a birthday cruise around the Western Caribbean back in May. . .what a wonderful experience.

47. Hike 100 miles collectively. (12/100)

I can safely assume I added about another 1.5 miles to my count while I was visiting Cumberland Gap, and I don't know, but a lot of it seemed to be up hill. ;-D

Well I've a little over a year left and 77 of my 101 things left to do. Some of those are currently in process so they'll hopefully be done soon. Some though I'm afraid I don't see completely by September of 2011, but you never can tell.

my mission

 Has changed significantly ^^
